AMUSSISINDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENTAL REVIEW THE INTAKE
THIRTEEN QUESTIONS · TEN TO TWENTY MINUTES

Tell me how the program is built.

This is everything I need to read your program against the developmental research. Short answers are fine. Plain language is better than polished. Write it the way you would explain it to a parent on a tour.

  • If a question does not apply, write N/A and move on.
  • Your answers save in this browser as you type, so you can come back to it.
  • If you have a handbook, a scope and sequence, or a sample schedule, email it to drreynolds@amussis.one after you submit. Nothing is required beyond the answers.
1THE BASICS

School or program name, town, grades or ages served, approximate enrollment, year founded, and who we are corresponding with.

2ORIGINS

Who designed the program, and what shaped it: people, books, models, or schools you drew from. If you follow a named model or curriculum provider, say which.

3THE MODEL AS YOU PRACTICE IT

How the program is staged or sequenced (grade bands, developmental stages, levels, or your own terms) and which ages fall in each.

4A TYPICAL DAY, TWICE

Walk through a normal day for your youngest group and for your oldest: the blocks, how long lessons run, transitions, recess and movement, meals, and when the day ends.

5CURRICULUM BY SUBJECT OR AREA

What you use, published or your own, for each subject or area of the program.

6HOW TEACHING HAPPENS IN THE ROOM

Roughly how much time goes to direct instruction, memory work or recitation, discussion, independent work, play, and projects. Whatever mix is true.

7MOVING THROUGH THE PROGRAM

How you decide a child is ready to advance, and what happens when one is not, or is ahead.

8KNOWING IT IS WORKING

How you assess learning or development, formal or informal, and what happens when a child falls behind.

9CLASSROOM CULTURE

Behavior expectations, how discipline is handled, and how conflict between children is handled.

10CHILDREN WHO LEARN DIFFERENTLY

How you handle students with learning differences, attention difficulties, or advanced ability, and whether you have limits on who you enroll.

11THE ADULTS

Backgrounds and training of the people who teach or lead, group sizes, and adult-to-child ratio.

12HOME

What you expect from parents, and what homework or home practice looks like, if any.

13YOUR QUESTION

What you would most like the review to look at, and anything about the program you are already unsure of. You do not have to have one.

It goes straight to Kevin. You get a receipt by email.

Received.

Your intake is in. I read it next, ask anything I still need by reply, and you have the written review, the certificate, and the seal by the date we agreed.

A receipt is on its way to the email you gave. If you have documents to add, send them to drreynolds@amussis.one.
